Home to the yearly Cannes Film Festival, many Hollywood movie stars come over to celebrate the latest movie premieres at the Grand Théâtre Lumière, inside the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, situated on the Promenade de la Croisette. The Cannes Film Festival is widely known as "the European Oscars", having catered to nearly all of the biggest movie stars over the past few decades, since it started in the 1940s.
